Wade Hampton Blvd Corridor Improvement Project

The following was provided by Steve Mills, North Main Community Association President for 2023.
On June 20, 2023, I attended the City of Greenville kickoff for the Wade Hampton Blvd Corridor Improvement Project at White Oak Baptist Church. There was a full house for the meeting which was attended by John DeWorken, Dorothy Dowe, and Knox White. The City had a large number of staff attend and SCDOT was present as well. I encourage everyone to read the project summary at the link provided, and then give feedback at the public input link which is at the end of the summary. There were 3 options presented, which you can view in the summary. I am partial to option 1 which I have seen in use in other countries such as China, Brazil, and Mexico. There are also other safety improvements such as a traffic circle at Church Street and Wade Hampton Blvd. This project will be a big benefit to our area and will enable many neighborhoods to have a connection that is safe to walk, run, and ride. If you have any questions, please contact NMCA through the NMCA website provided below and I will respond as soon as possible.

The next City meeting will be in about 4 months after they have had time to gather public input and to generate more detailed plans.
