From the Greenville News…..
Thumbs Down to the destruction of trees off Wade Hampton Boulevard, and Thumbs Up to nearby residents who have forced the city to deal with what appears to be a permit violation. The site being graded for a controversial low-income apartment complex is just plain ugly, and the residents have every right to be up in arms. The developers certainly have some explaining to do, and the city should pursue some form of corrective action. The low-income apartments have not been popular with many of the nearby residents, but a partial win came with assurance that some trees would provide a buffer between the apartments and nearby homes. Now the trees are gone near the intersection of Brookside Circle and Gilfilling Road, The Greenville News reported.
