As reported previously, the infill ordinance passed first reading at city council in June. They are changing the wording back to what was in the draft when it left the Planning Commission. While they think it was honestly an accident from one of the many drafts, someone had to come up with that wording… perhaps it was in a much earlier draft. By the next reading the ordinance should include more tress and save more trees. The ordinance goes before City Council for second reading this coming Monday afternoon at their formal meeting which begins at 5:30pm in Council Chambers, 10th floor, City Hall. Public can still comment at the final reading, but to speak you MUST sign in at the reception desk prior to the meeting as ‘Citizens Wishing to Address Council’ is early in the meeting. Obviously we need to closely read the next draft that comes out.

Please note that the Infill Ordinance is Item 13a – City Code – Z 9-2014 Establishing single family residential infill standards.pdf Please be aware that items on the consent agenda (Item 10) are usually heard as a group unless council has a question, so should go fairly quickly. There are only two items under new business so our wait may not seem as long as it first appears.
