Halloween Happenings

Looking for safe activities for the kids (or you) this Halloween? Our members have sent in a few suggestions.

This year NMCA will be joining Earle Street for their annual Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treating Festivities! For North Main residents with small children, if you want to participate in the parade, please be at the west end of Earle Street by 6:15 pm on Monday, October 31. After the parade, there will be trick-or-treating on the street which will be closed for the event, so no traffic to worry about.

E/W/N Avondale is ready for a Monday the 31st evening Halloween extravaganza! Kids are welcome to trick or treat! 5:00 p.m. Avondale & Parkside. Chicken Nuggets & kids drinks provided. Please bring a covered dish or appetizer to share. Rsvp: Amanda Hill 235-6440. Sydney Sykes 233-6154.

Boo on Buist will be held Saturday, October 29, from 1-5 PM. The street will be closed from 12:45 to 5PM. Games, trick or treating, bring snacks/drinks to share. Bring a crock of your best chili to share for a Chili Cook-Off! For information, call Ross at 525-8802.

E. Hillcrest area Halloween Parade. Saturday, October 29, 10 AM. The parade route is E. Hillcrest, Parkwood and Woodbine. Come cheer them on!

White Oak Baptist Church, 1805 Wade Hampton Blvd., is having a Fall Festival on October 30 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. There will be games, a hayride, and more. Each child will receive a bag of candy, too. Children are welcome to come in costume, but we do ask that the costumes not be scary.

Greenville Church of Christ, 112 W. Stone Ave., is new to our area and will be holding their Fall Festival on Sunday, October 30, from 2 – 3:30 PM. Games and activities, Costume Contest, “Trunk” or Treating for the kids. 325-3774. www.greenvillecoc.com

For adults, the Northgate Soda Shop will hold its annual Halloween Party on Friday evening, October 28, at 6:30pm. Prizes given for best costumes…1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Please bring an appetizer to share.
