BZA to consider variance request by Lockbox Storage tomorrow, Jan 10

As most of you know, the city recently rejected the proposal for another storage facility on Wade Hampton Blvd.  The Lockbox Storage Facility which is currently there is now asking the city zoning board for a variance to rent trucks and trailers at their location.  There is currently a U-Haul rental site just up the road. The city is working on finalizing the Wade Hampton Redevelopment Plan which will direct future development.  This request for variance will come before the BZA tomorrow, Thursday, Jan 10,   in a Public Hearing at 4pm on the 10th floor of city hall.   The documents can be found at https://www.greenvillesc.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_01102019-1683

The public is invited to attend.  A group of local citizens has started a petition in protest to this request.  As an informational service, we are sharing the website for the petition so that you can decide if you want to sign.  It can be found at  https://secure.avaaz.org/en/community_petitions/will_hendry_Stop_Truck_Rentals_at_Lockbox/details/?fbclid=IwAR0grjieo2znOzqEi8obPmU0CktI-G42fENo3OL5fBrqlUGmir1WVQxfRMM
