A member sent us the following information about a possible new development between W. Hillcrest and W. Mountainview. We’ve been seeing what looks like survey flags further west than the 5 lot development we are already aware of (it looks like they are most of the way to Towne St.), and this would explain it. Please keep your eyes open for any public meetings or zoning notices so that interested neighbors can have input. Please contact NMCA if you find out news we can share. “As you may know North Main Building and Design at 201 W Stone Ave, Greenville, SC 29609 is performing preliminary surveying to develop the property between Hillcrest Dr and Mountainview Ave. When a neighbor spoke to an individual walking the property, he was told the builder is planning 12 homes in a cul-de-sac on property. Let’s hope this is not a more dense development than is reflected by surrounding homes or the two new nearby developments. It is sad to see the only remaining refuge for opossums, raccoons, owls, and other wildlife go the way of development, but this is private property and he may choose to profit as he sees fit from his property.”
