During the month of July 2016, the North Main Community Association communicated to its membership via Facebook and its website a message entitled “WARNING ABOUT DOG WALKING INCIDENT.” This posting contained incomplete, false and misleading representations about the “incident”. Regrettably, the NMCA published information obtained from only one person – an individual who is not a member of the NMCA nor is she even resident of the North Main area. The NMCA did not contact the other individual involved, who is a resident of the North Main area and a member of NMCA, to get her side of the story. Instead, the NMCA accepted the nonresident’s version of the events as true without any investigation. Contrary to the information published by the NMCA, this interaction did not take place on public property and the NMCA member who was involved was never contacted by law enforcement. The Association apologizes to its member for publishing information about her and this event without contacting her for comment or otherwise verifying the facts.
