Some of you may have either received a letter or have seen City signage on property at the corner of Hindman Drive and North Main regarding an upcoming Planning Commission meeting on an infill project. Currently this parcel is subdivided into 3 lots where 5 homes were built in the 40’s. Four homes currently remain (one was lost to fire). The parcel is 1.41 acres and the request is to subdivide it into 6 single family home lots which is permitted within the current R-6, single family zoning district. The Planning Commission will meet on this application on Dec 12 at 4pm in the 10th Floor Council Chambers at City Hall. The application can be viewed at http://www.greenvillesc.gov/PlanningZoning/PlanningApplications/Applications/2013/DECEMBER/PlanningCommission/12-12-2013/SD-13-261-1HindmanDrive.pdf
Prior to this, the applicant, Hindman at North Main, LLC., is holding a community meeting this coming Monday, Dec 2, at 6PM at the Northgate Soda Shop. Anyone interested in this infill project is urged to attend to learn more about it and ask questions. To the right is a photo showing one of the existing homes. The parcel in question can be seen at the website given above. As you can see it is a sloped wooded area. Obviously with many infill projects of late, a primary interest is maintaining existing tree canopy, minimizing impervious surface, and maintaining the neighborhood character. If you cannot attend the meeting and have questions, you can reach Terry Birch at terrybirch@gmail.com or call him at 704-634-1166.
