This Saturday, the Greater Greenville Sanitation Commission will celebrate residential customer appreciation day at its Green Waste Recovery Facility at 515 Sagitarius Way. From 8am to 2pm, customers can receive up to 10 cubic yards of once-ground mulch or 5 cubic yards of garden soil, free of charge. In return, customers are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to a local charity. See the facility up close and learn about future plans such as community garden, habitat preservation, etc. (Customers will be responsible for strapping and tarping their loads.) Visit the Greater Greenville Sanitation Website for more information.
Also on Saturday from 10am to 2pm, The City will be sponsoring a free recycling event for residents and businesses at the Public Works facility, 360 Hudson Street. The following items will be accepted: compact fluorescent bulbs, fluorescent tubes, ballasts, computer monitors, keyboards, mice, wires, circuit boards, CPUs, scanners, printers, TVs, radios, VCRs and DVD players. For more information call Alysen Woodruff, the City’s Recycling Coordinator at 864-467-8300.
