Think ‘Local’ This Shopping Season

If you’re still shopping, you’re running out of time.   Consider a gift certificate from one of NMCA’s many business members.  How about gift certificate from Dahlia a Florist, Cindy’s Salon and Day Spa, Feldenkrais Greenville, He and Me Hair Designs, McDunn Studio and Art Gallery, Nicholson Stained Glass, Urban Digs, WildEarth Landscaping, Stone Avenue Nursery, T.L. Norris Gallery, Gary Hester Interiors, Bullmoose Tree Company, or Main Street Wellness and Chiropractic Center.  Or a gift certificate for some good food from The Northgate Soda Shop, Coffee Underground, Swamp Rabbit Café and Grocery, the Drop In Store, or The Silver Screen Café.  How about some sewing lessons from Elizabeth Chandler Designs, or dance lessons from Dance Ventures at Stone Plaza.  As we mentioned earlier, Charity Navigator lists many good charities, including member Gateway House.  They are listed on the unrated page because they receive government funding for their Medicaid members, thus can’t be rated.  They still rely on about 40% of their funding from individual and corporate donations.
