Greenville County Animal Care is offering free cats to a good home. ACS is holding the special because officials there say they had more than 200 felines available for adoption at the beginning of the week.
“Studies show that the companionship of a pet can help lower blood pressure and increase happiness and we at Animal Care know that it is true,” a news release stated. “So, we feel great offering the community cats with no fee, so that they can help our cats and add joy to their lives.”
The shelter says more than 100 cats and kittens were adopted on Tuesday. That’s the largest number of felines that has even been adopted in one day.
The special adoption offer has been so successful, the shelter has extended it through Saturday. The shelter will be open Friday until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shelter is located on Furman Hall Road.
