One of our members posted this poster on our Facebook page and we thought it was worth sharing. More pets are lost on July 4 than any other day. One of the easiest things you can do to protect your pet(s) is keep them inside. Not only do we have stray dogs and coyotes roaming in this area, we also have raccoons who can easily kill a cat. Micro-chipping your outdoor pet, especially dogs, is a cheap investment to help get them returned in case they get lost. It only costs $10 at the Humane Society or Animal Care Services. Obviously, loud noises can scare a dog or cat and cause them to run. Let’s consider our 4 legged companions this year while celebrating.
